Leadership Team:
Pointe Automotive Advisors
David R. Melton
Managing Principal
As Managing Principal of Pointe Automotive Advisors, I serve as a long-term Automotive Capital and Real Estate Advisor to owners of auto dealerships and collision centers nationwide. My work focuses on helping ownership teams make intentional capital, real estate, and ownership decisions—the choices that quietly shape enterprise value, liquidity, and long-term control.
Rather than engaging at the point of transaction, I work with clients earlier—when options are widest, and pressure is lowest. Whether the objective is growth, generational transition, balance-sheet optimization, or future optionality, my role is to bring structure and clarity to decisions that are often made in isolation.
With more than 40 years of hands-on experience in the automotive industry, including serving as a dealership COO, I bring an operator’s perspective to every advisory engagement. I have faced the same capital, real estate, and ownership challenges my clients confront, allowing me to provide practical, grounded guidance during high-stakes decisions.
My advisory practice is anchored in three integrated areas:
🔴 Dealer Capital Review
A structured diagnostic that evaluates capital structure, real estate alignment, rent discipline, and liquidity positioning—providing a clear baseline for informed decision-making without pressure to transact.
🔴 Capital & Ownership Strategy
Guidance on how capital is structured and deployed across operating entities and real estate to support long-term objectives, reduce risk, and preserve flexibility.
🔴 Real Estate & Liquidity Strategy
Advisory support around real estate ownership, rent alignment, and liquidity planning—including sale-leaseback analysis—used intentionally and only when aligned with ownership goals.
I work collaboratively with each client’s CPA, legal counsel, and advisors to ensure that capital decisions are well coordinated in advance. The result is disciplined planning, clearer options, and the ability to move forward—if and when appropriate—on the owner’s terms.
Heather Loveless
Vice-President
Heather Loveless serves as Vice President of Pointe Automotive Advisors, where she plays a key role in supporting dealership owners through disciplined capital and real estate advisory engagements. Her work is dedicated exclusively to the automotive dealership sector, helping ownership teams gain clarity around capital structure, real estate alignment, and long-term planning decisions that directly influence enterprise value and control.
Heather works closely with franchised and independent auto dealers nationwide, supporting advisory initiatives that often begin with the Dealer Capital Review and extend into ongoing capital and real estate strategy. Her focus is on helping owners prepare thoughtfully—whether for growth, generational transition, balance-sheet optimization, or future optionality—well before decisions become time-sensitive.
In her role, Heather is deeply involved in client coordination, strategic analysis, and advisory process management. She ensures that complex financial, real estate, and ownership considerations are organized, clearly communicated, and aligned across all stakeholders. Her ability to synthesize information and maintain continuity throughout the advisory process makes her a trusted partner for dealer principals navigating consequential ownership decisions.
Heather is committed to building long-term relationships with automotive dealers founded on trust, transparency, and consistency. Her high-touch, detail-oriented approach reflects Pointe Automotive Advisors’ advisory-first philosophy—serving dealership owners not just at moments of transition, but across the full lifecycle of ownership as a reliable capital and real estate advisor.
Operator-Led Capital & Real Estate Advisory for Auto Dealers
What distinguishes Pointe Automotive Advisors is an operator-first advisory perspective. Led by David Melton—a former dealership COO—and supported by Heather Loveless, Vice President, our team brings firsthand understanding of the strategic, financial, and personal decisions dealership owners face as they manage capital, real estate, and long-term ownership planning.
Rather than approaching these decisions through a transactional lens, our advisory work begins earlier—helping owners evaluate how capital is structured, how real estate supports the operating business, and how timing affects long-term value and control. David’s operating background grounds each engagement in real-world dealership realities, while Heather provides disciplined coordination, communication, and continuity across the advisory process.
This combination of lived operating experience and structured, advisory execution—anchored by Pointe Automotive Advisors’ proprietary POINTE Process—allows us to serve as a trusted capital and real estate partner to automotive dealers. Our role is to bring clarity and structure to complex decisions, helping owners move forward with confidence long before pressure or urgency exists.
